    Moving sliders into the body of the page

    Is there a way I can move the slider down into the body of the page, so it sits above the 3 posts you can see in this screenshot, but below the title of the page?

    Well the slider wasn’t meant to be used that way in the first place but with a little code customization it should be possible.
    I just made a quick test and it seems to work (the test wasn’t extensive though 🙂 )

    I’m attaching a page template to this reply ( page-slider-below-title.php ) which is actually just a slightly modified version of the regular page template page.php.

    – Download it, unzip it and drop it into your child theme (you’ll need to access it via ftp and place this file in /wp-content/themes/boldr-pro-child/ )

    – The template will be available when you edit your page, under “Page attribute” > Template, you should be able to select “Slider below title”.

    – Enable the slider as normal for this page and it should appear where you wanted it!

    – Also add this in Custom CSS to fix the display, otherwise it will look completely off in this new position:

    #page-container #slider-wrap ul li { margin: 0!important; }
    #page-container #slider-wrap { width: 94.4444444%; }

    Hi again,

    I just realised this overwrote a previous change we made.

    Previously we had moved the sidebar up to start alongside the page name. This new change has reverted this on the home page.

    How can I make it look like the rest of the site?

    Oh that’s right, I forgot that you already had a custom page template for this.
    Here, I made both changes in this one, replace the previous file with it and this custom template should have both the title on the left of the sidebar and the slider below 🙂

    I’ve used this child theme and it’s worked for the slider…but it’s ended up with a really weird result for the “read more” button on my posts.

    The button has ended up with an arrow and some weird spacing to it! It’s additionally seemingly added padding between the except and the button itself!

    Could you take a quick look to see what’s happening?

    Screenshot attached for quick reference and “coming soon mode” deactivated for the time being.

    That’s unexpected indeed! It doesn’t seem to be connected with this custom page template, but obviously something isn’t playing as planned amongst all of the custom code, and maybe some of the recent changes to your content.

    I’m not sure where things went wrong, but this should fix it:
    You have this somewhere in your Custom CSS (custom code I gave you from another thread):

    .blogpost-grid-excerpts .read-more {
        position: absolute;
        width: 80px;
    [...]

    Change the width value to 110px and it should look better:

    .blogpost-grid-excerpts .read-more {
        position: absolute;
        width: 110px;
    [...]

    And you’ve nailed it again!

    Thank you mate – very much appreciated.
