    max page width & images

    Hi Mathieu,

    Here I am again back from Sardinia. Hope you are fine!
    A question with regard to the Maximum Page Width, which can be modified in Chooko.
    When I change the with to 1260 pix in stead of the standard 960, I guess I have to modify all images and sliders to a similar width. Or is there an easier way?
    There is no way to make Chooko go “Wide” i guess? Maybe modifying the page width is even more subtle…

    And do you have a CSS code to change the color of txt with a link to another site?
    The color scheme of this site is OK, but the linked text color turns out poorly visible.

    Hope to hear from you, all the best from Amsterdam,
    Koen

    Hi Koen,

    If you change the layout’s width (max page width) and want images and slides to fit the new size and look good, I’m afraid there isn’t any other way than re-uploading them after resizing them appropriately.

    Chooko doesn’t have a boxed/wide layout selector, but this isn’t related to the max page width, which you can set as wide as you like!

    If the automatically generated color shades don’t look good for text links, you can of course change them with Custom CSS.
    The following allows you to change the color of these links in default and hover state, respectively:

    a, #page-container h1 a, #page-container h2 a, #page-container h3 a, #page-container h4 a, #page-container h5 a, #page-container h6 a {
        color: #79bd9a;
    }

    a:hover, #page-container h1 a:hover, #page-container h2 a:hover, #page-container h3 a:hover, #page-container h4 a:hover, #page-container h5 a:hover, #page-container h6 a:hover {
        color: #ffec74;
    }

    Thanks. I’ll resize the images.

    Which one is the header of the links? h4?

    Well it depends on the links and how you placed them! Which links exactly are you trying to change the color?

    Well the code above will work, however not all of it is necessary, just this should be enough:

    a {
        color: #79bd9a;
    }

    a:hover {
        color: #ffec74;
    }

    If you want to make sure you only affect links inside of your page content, you can also use:

    #page-container a {
        color: #79bd9a;
    }

    #page-container a:hover {
        color: #ffec74;
    }

    Lastly, in case you only want to target links to third party sites, but not internal links, you can also use this selector: (of course replace “yoursite.com” with the actual domain)

    a[href*="//"]:not([href*="yoursite.com"]) {
        color: #79bd9a;
    }

    a[href*="//"]:not([href*="yoursite.com"]):hover {
        color: #ffec74;
    }

    OK, thanks. That works fine.

    One little thing: do you have a way as not to show the dashed horizontal ruler below the page title?

    Sure, here’s for both posts and pages:

    /* Remove dashed line under posts titles */
    h1.entry-title {
        border-bottom: none;
    }

    /* Remove dashed line under pages titles */
    h1.page-title {
        border-bottom: none;
    }
