    Change individual page inside background color

    Hello Iceable,

    First of all thanks for the extensive information on your support forums. So far I’ve been able to find the CSS code for the changes I wish to make.

    Still there is a problem that I can’t seem to fix.

    The site uses a boxed layout.

    On the majority of my pages I want the inside background color to be #1e1e1e.

    But on my destination pages – such as my ‘East Africa’ page id 2129 – I want the inside background color to be #00000.

    I tried adding

    .page-id-2129 #main-wrap.boxed { background: #000000; }

    and

    page-id-2129 #main-wrap { background: #000000; }

    To theme options custom CSS – but neither of them worked.

    Help!

    Hi Paul,

    This line:

    .page-id-2129 #main-wrap.boxed { background: #000000; }

    is exactly what you need to change the “inside background color” of page 2129.

    By looking closer at your site I found why it doesn’t work though: there is one broken part in your current Custom CSS, and usually when something is broken in CSS, everything that comes after is ignored.

    This:

    .socialmedia-wrap .fa-stack-2x { color:#404040 !important; /* Color for the rounded square background of each icon */

    is missing a closing bracket.

    Make sure to fix it and the rest should work as expected!

    Unfortunately I have another problem.
    I’ve been trying to move my thumbnail images on my blog index page http://impressions.bicyclingaroundtheworld.nl/blog-2/ to the left.
    I want it so that it looks like this blog category page http://impressions.bicyclingaroundtheworld.nl/category/guest-photography/
    I tried adding this CSS code
    blog.thumbnail { float: left; margin-left: 0px;}
    But it didn’t work. Do you have a solution?

    Hi Paul, try this to align the thubmnail to the left on this page:

    .type-page .thumbnail { text-align: left; }

    However, I noticed this is not actually a blog page, but a standard page with the “blogpost” shortcode in it.

    I would recommend making this page the actual blog page by defining it as “Page for posts”. You can do so from Settings > Reading.
    If you do this it will look like the category page you mention without any custom css, and it will also support pagination.
